Testing camera
This animation has been in the works for awhile. Still needs some tweaking. But I am testing a more moving camera than the original animation had.

Cleaning up
Helping Troy so he can get the cloth sim finished, and have an easier time doing it. Fixing points where things penetrate lizards body
Waiting for the Match
Know what I'm going to do for the match now. Waiting on final animation before I can animate. Once I have the final animation at final resolution I'll rough animate in Toon Boom and then polish it off to the correct look in Photoshop and After Effects.

Matches - Right Tool for the Job
I'm discovering that there are way too many variables to using Maya for lighting the match. I believe I will have more control over the effect if I use After Effects and, honestly, for less than two seconds of animation it makes more sense. I don't have anything to show right now but hopefully through this avenue I'll be able to have the effect done much sooner. I'll be there Tuesday with something to show.

Flicker tests
It's still flickering a tiny bit, but we may be able to hide it... MOVING ON
Slow Going
Have had nothing but problems since importing lights into the referenced lizard set. All materials losing their shaders, Light Linking failing and all lights not functioning like listed there, and eventually back to Maya encountering a software error and immediately crashing when attempting to save. Also I had written information in the description section of Attributes for all of my lights to explicitly state what they were or were not linked to, all of this no longer exists for an unknown reason.
Have put together another All-In-One set with the updated lizard materials to try and actually get some work done. I watched over 4 hours of video on Lighting and Color theory over the weekend and hope to incorporate those concepts into finishing the Lighting.

Animation progress
Abel and I have gone through the animation, and set a goal for all to be completed in 2 WEEKS. In speaking with the other animators, we have agreed this goal is attainable and will be reached.
Playing With Matches - Round Two
Still didn't get movement of the match working but I think I've got the flame looking more like I want. Feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Test Render
The Arbor and fence are a little to dark, but Aaron and I were trying to get the depth pass to work for depth of field

Playing With Matches
I did actually literally light a few matches for this one. Still not 100% happy here - I think the flame might be a little long. Also, still trying to figure out how to get the flame to dynamically follow the match. That's my next step.

Technical Rendering - Matte Passes
I found a script that make it easier to divide objects into mattes... Its taking a long time due the amount of research I had to do, and how I have to test everything... Long story short, I dont have much to show other than, my failures at using the matte script... Im getting outlines of the matte for some reason
Animation Status
As it stands right now:
Act 1: final clean up needed on 4 scenes
Act 2: final clean up needed on 3 scenes
Act 3: final clean up needed on 1 scene.
Act 1: final clean up needed on 4 scenes
Act 2: final clean up needed on 3 scenes
Act 3: final clean up needed on 1 scene.
Please Look At This
This was cut by an editor. Watch it and see what you think about the over all timing of the film.
Yes he did speed up clips, and cut things here or there. It cut off 1.5 minutes. I want to know, is it worth it?

Lizard, Ladder, & Mud
I need to add emitters...
Kurt Spears - Fate, Inc. - Update 002
Still working on scripts and gameplay systems. Long way to go!
A few Maya Hiccups
I spent a long time trying to figure out why a few of the objects in the lizard set were being lit by additional lights and couldn't really figure it out, I unlinked all of the lights from the object and it was STILL LIT. I had to start hiding lights to try and find which one was actually problematic and then link it to the object so that I could unlink it... Also all of the notes I wrote for my lights that told me what they were or were not specifically linked to no longer exist.

Fire Reloaded
Scrapped my old fire and started over. Still have some stuff I want to work on with this - adding noise, etc. Possibly a little more swirl. But I'm getting closer I think. Also think I need to speed it up - it's still a little lighter-like.
Working on Gameplay
The system of Gunplay is being worked out and script structure is being built. Studying the scripts found in Unity's new Bootcamp demo shows that there are a number of variables controlled just in gunfights alone.
