Individual Shot Lighting Test
Checking the current lightset against all the camera angles in this shot to see what might not have been visible from the initial camera view. It looks like 1 or more of my fill lights still has specularity enabled and the kerosene can and bucket I added after I setup the lights need to be unlinked from the bounce light in that area and lit separately. Also in some of the shots the wood appears to be illuminated funny compared to the rest of the scene.
Other things of note: In the shots that show the doorway behind the lizard the walls have a hole that reveals the exterior bricks, and the floorboards in the back half of the house appear to be full of holes. Also I think the texture (or at least the transition area from yellow to green) looks funny. I still need to link the lizards highlight lights to the camera so they move with the individual shots.
Holy Cow! Waaaay too much fire.
This was totally not what I expected it to be. I realized that there was too much fire in my test renders but when I did a full render it went funky. Still got a ways to go with tweaking these settings but I've at least got multiple emitters working.
Lizard fire effects
Heres a test video I did for some explosions...

Updated Survey
I've created two tabs on the blog, so you can send people to take the survey. Also the 3rd tab is for us, if we want to add more question.
I dare someone else besides me to actually look at it. :-)

Fire Round 2 - Maya Fluids version
Test One using Maya Fluids for the fire. Yes, I know it's too small - still tweaking settings to get it to fill the container. Render is to show what the fluid version looks like. If I can get this to fill the container I like this version better than Maya's default fire. Also, virtually no difference in render times between the two.

Fire Sketches cont.
Awful Test Render, But the Render Farm is Working!
The ambient occlussion pass is flickering quite a bit, not sure yet how to fix it... I put in an image from the internet for the background just to see how it'll "sorta" look
Rough HighRez animation compile
I was cutting up the edited animatic for the Lizard movie so that I could see exactly what pieces of the set were exposed to the camera to ensure that everything was properly lit. When I referenced one of the animations the Lizard skin material didn't come though, I had worked on getting that to link properly last semester so this kind of frustrated me. I determined that in about half of the animations it was likely that the connections for the textures in the lizard material were made from within the animation file instead of the Lizard file being referenced, when the Lizard2 is referenced the texture information is overridden with path locations that exist only in the animation file.
Just to see how well all of the camera positions and animations meshed with the high rez set, I referenced it to all of the animations I got from Abel for the first scene. This just gives a vague idea of what exactly needs to be relinked or what changes to the animations will need to be made before actual rendering.
I think that all of the animations being finalized should probably be done from now on in the high resolution set?
Waperized
Prepare for immediate deresolution!!!
First shows a vaporization with particles, second, shows a similar effect minus the wind effect. More, like a Tron Legacy derezzing.

A01 Sq003 Shot 02 First Pass Cloth Sim
This is the first pass on the cloth Sim for this shot in Lizard and The Ladder. Some inner penetration is showing in areas of the body with a high angle of rotation, but should work out in the next pass or two.

Lizard lightning update 001
Image reference:
These are all references that I found for lightning. This effects can be taken many different directions. The questions is whether or not we want to do this effect on the more realistic or cartoon side of things.
